My experience in senior roles combined with strong analytical and strategic skills enables me to provide valuable insight and advice to personal lines insurance businesses.

For the last 18 years, I been an independent consultant advising on a range projects related to personal lines insurance, with an emphasis on pricing processes. This has included three engagements as an interim pricing or underwriting manager.

For over 12 years up until 2005, I was a member of the senior executive team of Direct Line as it grew and evolved into RBS Insurance, including 4 years as Managing Director of Direct Line's UK retail business.

  Direct Line & RBS Insurance      1992-2005

I was a member of the senior leadership team. For the final 4 years held the role of Managing Director, Direct Line Insurance and was responsible for the strategy for the Direct Line brand and for achieving financial and operational targets.  Prior to that role I held senior roles with Product, Pricing or Analytics responsibilities

   KPMG Management Consultants         1987 to 1992

I spent four years with KPMG’s actuarial practice.  This role encompassed analytical advice, covering claims reserving, pricing and financial modelling, and strategic advice on market entry and business development.

During these 9 years I worked exclusively on pricing and analytical support to the general insurance management, leading the GB Statistics Team for the final 4 years.
